Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms carefully before using Athlas Verity. They set out your rights, our obligations, and the rules governing use of the platform and its verification outputs.
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and CarbonFi Labs ("we", "our", "us") governing your access to and use of the Athlas Verity carbon credit verification platform (the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or clicking "I agree", you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), have the legal authority to enter this agreement, and accept these Terms in full. If you are accessing the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
These Terms were last updated on 1 January 2025. We reserve the right to modify them at any time, and continued use of the Service after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Description of Service
Athlas Verity provides an AI-powered, satellite-enhanced carbon credit verification platform. The Service allows authorised users to submit carbon project data, receive automated verification calculations based on internationally recognised methodology frameworks (IPCC AR6, VCS/Verra, CarbonPlan, Puro.earth, ISO 14064-2:2019, Open MRV, Isometric, and Regen Network), and generate institutional-grade verification reports.
The Service includes the following features: project submission and management, AI-assisted analysis (AURA consensus engine), satellite geospatial validation, carbon credit quantification, PDF report generation, and access to a project verification history dashboard.
3. User Accounts & Eligibility
To access the Service, you must register for an account. By registering, you agree to:
- Accurate Information: Provide truthful, complete, and current registration information and promptly update it if it changes.
- Account Security: Maintain the confidentiality of your credentials. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- Authorised Use Only: Not share, transfer, or sell your account to any third party. Each account is personal and non-transferable.
- Notification of Breach: Notify us immediately at security@athlasverity.com upon becoming aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or display suspicious activity, without prior notice where security requires immediate action.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Submit False Data: Upload, input, or present fabricated, falsified, or misleading project data, coordinates, or supporting documentation for the purpose of obtaining fraudulent verification outcomes.
- Circumvent Security: Attempt to bypass authentication, exploit vulnerabilities, reverse-engineer algorithms, or interfere with the platform's integrity or availability.
- Automated Scraping: Use bots, scrapers, or automated scripts to access, copy, or extract platform content or verification outputs without prior written consent.
- Infringe Intellectual Property: Copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Service, its source code, algorithms, or documentation without authorisation.
- Misrepresent Outputs: Present Athlas Verity verification reports as independent regulatory approvals, certified offsets, or legal carbon credit registrations unless explicitly stated by an authorised registry.
- Harmful Conduct: Transmit malware, spam, or any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension, permanent bans, and where applicable, civil or criminal referral.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, code, algorithms, AI models, interfaces, branding, documentation, and methodology implementations on the Athlas Verity platform are the exclusive intellectual property of CarbonFi Labs or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trade secret, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service solely for your internal, non-commercial verification purposes. This licence does not include the right to sublicense, resell, copy, modify, or create derivative works.
Verification reports generated for your submitted projects are your property. By submitting project data, you grant CarbonFi Labs a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process that data to deliver the Service and to use anonymised, aggregated outputs for methodology research and platform improvement.
6. Nature of Verification Outputs
Athlas Verity verification reports are generated using automated quantification engines, satellite imagery analysis, and AI consensus models. These outputs are provided for informational and due-diligence purposes and constitute computational estimates based on submitted data and published methodology frameworks.
Verification reports produced by the Service do not constitute: (a) certification by any carbon registry (Verra, Gold Standard, etc.); (b) regulatory approval under any national or international climate regime; (c) investment advice or financial instruments; or (d) legal compliance clearances.
The accuracy of outputs is directly dependent on the completeness and accuracy of user-submitted data. CarbonFi Labs accepts no liability for incorrect outputs resulting from erroneous, incomplete, or fraudulent data submissions.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CARBONFI LABS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
We do not warrant that (a) the Service will meet your specific requirements; (b) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (c) the results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable; or (d) errors in the Service will be corrected.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CARBONFI LABS, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
CarbonFi Labs' total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising under or related to these Terms, regardless of the form of action, shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount paid by you to CarbonFi Labs in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.
9. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@athlasverity.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, including for violations of these Terms, non-payment of applicable fees, or extended periods of inactivity.
Upon termination, your licence to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) shall survive.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CarbonFi Labs is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under rules agreed upon in writing by both parties. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
